Advocacy

Upon assuming office, it was obvious to me that the relationship between the City of Brookshire and our community partners was fractured, if existent at all. Our residents deserve relationships that help us address the needs of our community and help Brookshire grow and flourish. By proactively working to build those relationships, and develop new relationships, we can develop plans to address our concerns and promote growth.

Waller County

Working with County Judge Duhon and Commissioners we were able to secure separate grants totaling just over $8 Million to address drainage in Brookshire. Improvements focus on 1st, 4th, Stella and Stalknect Roads and the creation of a large volume retention pond. Coupled with drainage work already in progress we can make meaningful progress on flood relief.

TXDot

Holding regular conversations holds TXDot accountable to complete projects in our area faster. TxDot invited me to join the South Waller County Mobility team giving us greater insight into future plans for roadway development in our area. TxDot maintains several major artery roads in Brookshire and working with them is essential.

Texas Municipal League

Appointed by TML President David Rutledge, Mayor of Bridge City to serve on the TML Broadband Advisory Committee. Tasked with regular meetings to discuss proposed statewide broadband maps, review federal and state proposed regulations and advocate for funding opportunities to ensure affordable, reliable internet is available to all Texans.

Houston-Galveston Council

Nominated by Waller County Commissioner Justin Beckendorff and then appointed to serve on the Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Advisory Committee as a small cities representative. Advocating for cities our size and surrounding as HGAC works to address current and future transportation needs in our area.

Moving Brookshire Forward

This past year, Brookshire has undergone remarkable transformations, propelling our community towards a brighter future. Key projects have played a pivotal role in this journey, leaving a lasting impact on our town and its residents.

Longenbaugh and Bostick Parks are in the process of a remarkable facelift, with the installation of brand-new playground and fitness equipment. These vibrant spaces will offer enhanced recreational opportunities for families and individuals, fostering a healthy and active lifestyle within our community.

The creation of the Downtown Plaza stands as a testament of our commitment to culture and entertainment. With the addition of an Amphitheater, our town can now play host to captivating outdoor concerts and events, bringing our community closer and infusing it with a vibrant spirit.

Furthermore, the renovation of our Convention Center has opened doors to a wide array of events. We can now proudly welcome gatherings of all kinds, fostering economic growth and providing a platform for businesses and organizations to thrive.

Our dedication to preserving our town's heritage is evident through the purchase and restoration of the historic Donigan Home. This iconic landmark now stands as a testament to our shared history, serving as a source of inspiration for future generations.

Collaborating with developers, we are shaping the future of Brookshire. Recruiting is underway of a range of retail and dining options that will enhance our town's vitality. These partnerships will spark economic growth and create new opportunities for businesses and residents alike.
